Loved the stream. Narrow roads could of done without. Lol
Very nice beautiful cabin everything was great just didn't like the curve and hills to get there.and who ever does the cleaning they could of cleaned it a little better but overall it were very nice.
We had a wonderful time at the (River Mist) lodge. The property was just as shown, everything was clean and comfortable. The hot tub never heated up, but when I reported it (along with another minor defect that did not affect our trip or comfort), the company refunded me a portion of the payment. Again, the minor inconveniences did not affect our enjoyment or comfort!
What I did not like -- though no fault of Cabins USA or the owner -- was the road getting to the lodge. I found it to be treacherous and nauseating; but I also live in Florida where roads are more flat and straight. Thankfully, there was no snow or ice when I was there or I would still be on top of that mountain waiting for the spring thaw. Others in my party were not as squeamish as me though. All I'm saying is I wasn't prepared but you should be. Consider this your warning the road up is nothing but switchbacks and hairpin curves with a bit of a roller coaster thrown in.
I will definitely rent from Cabins USA again -- though on lower ground. Bottom line -- it was a great experience and an easy booking.
Needs a mop and bucket for the kitchen and a bigger broom to match the dust pan. Little things that needs a little detail such as some dusting. I enjoyed the view and loved the sound of the river at night; it was so relaxing. Surround sound doesn't work in theater room. Overall I enjoyed my stay with my family and will be booking again sometime soon.
River Mist Lodge worked well for our family visiting the area for a wedding. Separate bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone was the main reason we picked this location. The showers are amazing!
The River view, fire pits, and large kitchen are impressive and I especially appreciated the supply of kitchen gadgets, silverware, dishes and cookware...a lot of cabins are lacking of these items. That being said, if you're planning to stay here, I recommend planning a trip to the store after check in because you'll most likely need supplies (e.g. dish soap, garbage bags, toilet paper). It came with some items, but not enough.
As was mentioned in previous reviews, the amenities leave a lot to be desired. The hot tub wasn't working and the av in the theatre room did not work well. Internet was not great and the cable would cut out. In my opinion, these are not deal breakers.
Overall, it was a great place to stay. I doubt I'll have a need to rent a place that big in the future, but I had a great experience with a Cabins USA and will most likely rent from them again.
Me and my family really enjoyed this cabin. We use cabin usa for all our cabin trips and me and my family does 2 cabin trips a year and they have never let us down. We have stayed in alot of cabins but river mist has to be in the top 3 of my choices on cabins especially with it looking over the river my son enjoyed the fishing there. It fit my family perfect. We said we will b definitely getting river mist again 10/10..
My family enjoyed our stay. The cabin was roomy and mostly comfortable. We enjoyed the game room, but the air conditioner did not cool the room. The bedrooms on that level were too hot and never cooled off. Whenever the showers on the third level were used, water leaked through the ceiling. We notified you, but the problem was not fixed. There were also termites in the kitchen window above the sink, in the floor and in the Windows near the dining table. The grill also needs to be cleaned.
We have been coming to the River Mist cabins for about 20 years so it's obvious that we love the location and the facilities. We missed one year because our cabin was declared unavailable because of bed bugs. We have stayed in several of the cabins and this was the third year that we have stayed in the lodge. Our only serious complaint this year is that the karaoke was unavailable because of lack of microphones. It was obvious to us that some of your guests are very abusive.
Loved the cabin, was very nice and big enough for our family. Not far from pigeon forge or Gatlinburg. Would definitely stay in the area again. Only issues we had was the hot tub didn't have water in it and found out it didn't work. Also couldn't use the theater room cause the sound wouldn't work, need to have it sprayed for bugs as we had to deal with centipedes the whole time inside the house. Also no lights for outside and two of the showers upstairs would leak down to the living room.
For my family and friends the cabin was awesome and provided more amenities than I have ever seen. For the first time we literally only need to bring the food. Anything need to cook the food, 2 different types of coffee maker a margaritas machine and so much more. The large refrigerator was welcom. Refrigerators in rooms was a great plus. Some took full advantage of the river behind the cabin and fished often and caught nice size bass and some other type. Also gentleman was there working on some construction each day and he filled our fire pit each day out of kindness.
Only thing was we usually are not interested in bunk rooms and the bottom floor was bunk room. HUGE compromise for us. It was a little difficult to figure out how to work some things but Cabins USA sent someone to help relatively quick. Wifi was not as good as hoped. TV in the main area lost connection more than it kept connection.
BIG negative is there was a construction team that came on our 2nd day and we were told they were digging some headed for new structure over the grill. They accidentally hit some sewage thing and the smell was all through the cabin for hours. Plus they left a huge mess all in the grill and firepit area. No one felt like cleaning it up so we could no longer grill but we did use the fire pit.
Will return next year To this site but hope they build a nice back deck on it like they are doing on the cabin at the end. Oh and replace that poorly working Hot tub on the patio.
This was a wonderful visit for our family during a hard season of life. The cabin was beyond wonderful and the surroundings were phenomenal! Nothing like listening to the Little Pigeon River ! Thanks so much to Gaye at Cabins USA for making our week wonderful!!!!!
This cabin was spacious and had a lot of nice amenities. The outdoor seating was nice. The only complaints we have are that they were doing lots of construction when we arrived so it was noisy and their equipment took up a lot of our parking. There was also a vehicle parked by our cabin the whole time we were there, so we had to be creative to have enough room. The movie theater room was nice, but would not flip to dvd, which could have been operator error, but a guide on how to do it may be nice. The entire front row of seats were broke when we got there too. Lastly, the water pressure in most of the showers was terrible, but we brushed it off and made it work. The grill could probably use an update too, as only half of it was working. Again though, we had a great time and everything else in the cabin was great! Just another suggestion, maybe have some guides how to use things in the cabin. We couldn't get the whirlpool tub to have jets; we could not get fireplace in the living room to work; it was a trial and error on all the light switches.
We have been coming to the River Mist cabins for about 17 years so obviously we love the cabins and the location. Our booking was cancelled one year because of bed bugs. The Express Check In is great except for one thing. Even after I had completed the Express Check In, I kept getting e-mails encouraging me to take advantage of it. It gave me the impression that I had not done the check in properly or had not submitted it. I think that could probably be improved with a minor software change. We weren't able to enjoy the theater room because of a broken microphone and the hot tub was inoperative upon our arrival. My grandson lost a toy car underneath the couch and we discovered that underneath the couch had not been vacuumed in ages. Four wine glasses for a cabin that houses that many adults is obviously inadequate. Garbage pick-up was inadequate even after reporting that the bear-proof bin was full. Two different maintenance men finally took care of that problem. I would like to emphasize that we love the cabin and plan to return next year.
I had a wonderful experience ! Pictures are exactly as they seem ! 7 bedroom cabin with plenty of room for kids on the bottom level. TOTALY A GREAT CABIN EXPERIENCE !
This cabin is beautiful, totally remodeled with so many extra features and upgrades. Every time you look around you see another thoughtful and creative wooden structure or ornamental piece. It is located near the top of a mountain range with a direct backyard/balcony view to a vibrant raging river. Nature is all around you- the river, trees, rocks and land all make you feel totally immersed in nature. This cabin is huge with 3 floors of bedrooms and baths (most bedrooms have their own bathroom) and each have upgraded showers/shower heads. The beds, linens and towels all seemed new and in great condition with lots of extras like- HUGE TVs in almost every room; garbage compactor; expansive kitchen with all amenities/dishes/cookware; huge stainless steel double door refrigerator and freezer; full size washer/dryer; gas fireplaces all over the cabin; nice large hot tub on outside balcony overlooking the river; 3 floors of balconies to view nature/river from almost anywhere in the cabin. While it is not cheap, if you want a fantastic time with a true mountain riverside experience, with all the extras, this is a great cabin.
Only negative was a few technology issues related to the main TV, Karaoke machine and one of the arcade games. While only a minor aggravation, it took multiple calls/days and could have been resolved quicker. This cabin is huge with lots of space, beautifully furnished and a real delight for our multiple family groups for almost a week. We highly recommend.
When we first pulled up I thought, What have we got our self into? It was rustic so on the outside, But when we opened the door it smelled so clean and was so beautiful inside and being on the water was perfect !!! This is probably my most favorite cabin that we have stayed in, Our family goes every year on this long week-end, We will try to rent this one again, I would definitely highly recommend this cabin !!!!
We had some issues with the 1st cabin we were in but you all was on top of the issues and moved us to the river mist lodge wish was a awesome cabin Me and my family enjoyed every moment ..thank you.. you all rock...
We really enjoyed the cabin. I know that this particular unit is scheduled for some upgrades and that's great. All in all it's a fabulous location, and a beautiful cabin. The amenities were, ok.....getting a happy medium on room temps was tricky......could've used more dishes and kitchen utensils......we ran out of toilet paper (only one roll in each bathroom). The big sink in the kitchen doesn't work right and it doesn't drain like it should and one of the dish washers has a broken door. But all in all it was great. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely revisit this cabin and we are anxious to book with Cabins USA again!!
The property really is in the middle of know where but with that river it takes everything away! The only thing is the basement needs to be redone, the pool table needs new sticks, and the hot tube jets weren’t great at all. But other then that the rest of the cabins are amazing just need new blinds for the balcony in the room with it upstairs. You’ll be pleased and amazed at this cabin! Worth it totally for a group of 14!
The cabin was very clean and the main floor and top floor were elegant and spotless! The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances and dishware. Each bedroom on the upper levels were spacious and beautiful. The living room was spacious but could use additional plush seating for comfort. The lower level needs an overhaul! It doesn't meet the standards of the other two floors: carpet needs replacing, game table and pool table is outdated, television was not installed in the wall unit, and the bedroom is tiny and badly needs updating along with the bathroom. There was not enough comfortable seating throughout the cabin!
The view on the river was beautiful. The cabin inside was overall well appointed. There were ten members of my family and the size worked well for our visit. There are some minor issues that should be addressed on the property. Some of these items were reported to the booking office upon check in but nothing was corrected during our stay. Upon arrival we received a telephone call asking for the person in charge of paying the bill as it was delinquent? When we signed into the internet we received a message stating that the customer had exceeded their monthly availability - which was a major inconvenience. The screen in the front bedroom upstairs was busted out of the frame. Each bedroom had a gas fireplace but only one of the bedrooms had a remote control to make it work. So four bedroom were unable to enjoy a fire in their room. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary items but is in need of updating the cookware which was worn and even look unhealthy to use. We soaked and scrubbed burnt items from prior guests from the frying pans in order to be able to use them. There was a small bundle of wood furnished for the outside fire pit but no lighter fluid or matches to use were supplied. Overall, for the price charged for the cabin and compared to prior cabin rentals, this one fell short of our expectation. We would not return to this particular unit.

We love the River Mist group of cabins and have been renting them every year for the last 20 years or so. We absolutely love the River Mist Lodge and rented it for the first time last year. This year, however, the water pressure was inadequate which was quite a change from last year. That definitely needs to be improved as it was virtually impossible to take a decent shower. It would also be nice if a broom was provided. We had to go out and buy a broom to sweep the house, in particular the deck. There was also a problem with wasps. Two people were stung so we bought wasp/hornet spray to take care of that problem. Further, I think the price is somewhat high and we will probably look for something more reasonable for our getaway next summer. I must say, however, that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River Mist Lodge. The river and location are fantastic.
The cabin was beautiful. Lots of room, beautiful, great location and being right on the river was so beautiful and fun. It was exactly what we were looking for. Staff could do a little better job in cleaning. Kitchen floor was dirty. I started to make coffee in the large coffee maker, it had old and moldy grounds in it. Lots of dust bunnies... Blender leaked, so may need to be replaced. I do wish the land line phone was available to receive calls and make local calls, because of little or no cell reception. Small issues, but nothing that would make me not come back.
WE loved the cabin, loved the location and would definitely rent this again.

This cabin was amazing! My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The only complaint is they state its 5 king bed, its only four. Due to the room with the jacuzzi the bed is a queen. The beds were really soft and may be uncomfortable for some people. The pool table didnt have any of the balls to play pool. Other than that our stay was awesome!

A false drawer in the kitchen was falling off. Some moldings were missing on the floor. The jets in the tub did not work and neither did the bathroom outlets in that same room. The bottom floor glass doors did not lock. We let the staff know when they called and got a note saying it was fixed and to let them know if someone tried to break in- the fix was putting two sticks. The other stuff remained unfixed. They had several dead bugs around the windows and on the floor. The live ones I understand. The majority of the cabin was beautiful and location was nice. We had heating/cooling issues. Just needed maintenance.
We ended up at river mist at the last minute due to an issue with the cabin we originally booked. The cabin was beautiful! The location, amenities, everything was outstanding!
A minor bump was the fireplace in the upstairs bedroom wasnt working, and it couldnt be fixed during our stay...the whole thing needed to be replaced. Not a deal breaker by any means.
A few notes....there are only 4 king beds, not 5. The bedroom with the jacuzzi tub has a full sized bed, not a king. Not a big deal for our group, but it may be upsetting if you're really expecting a king.
One thing to note, too, is the last couple hundred yards to the cabin is gravel, so make sure your car is sound.
You will not be disappointed with this cabin. It is truly beautiful!

The cabin and area were wonderful for our family gathering. We had an issue with TV's that was not Cabins USA fault but they were very attentive to our situation and worked with us to take care of our needs.
I have been renting cabins thru Cabins USA for over 10 years and find they are always helpful and caring. We will continue to rent from Cabins USA and will recommend them.

I want to thank everyone for helping me make this a relaxing getaway for my husband! It was so important that he have this time and when arrive to find construction going on beside the cabin we rented the people at Cabins USA & the owner of the cabin made arrangements so we could have the peaceful getaway we planned. I am so grateful. Thank you it was wonderful, our teenage son who had planned to go out with grandma didn't want to leave and spent the entire weekend hanging out with us. Loved the location!

Only 1 complaint. There was a bobcat running up and down the lane next to house down to the river carrying and spreading compost that smelled horrible!! Took the fun out of enjoying the outdoors.
Directions to property was frustrating but with the help of customer service got there pretty quickly afterwards. However things that would be extremely helpful is if the name of the cabin would be posted by the River Mist sign.

The River Mist Lodge is fantastic and we enjoyed our stay immensely but there is some room for improvement. The middle bedroom's bathroom shower on the main floor drips and gurgles so loud that one must close the bathroom door in order to get some sleep. In addition, the sink does not drain properly and the drain does not appear to be adjustable. We also noticed that the upstairs middle bedroom's shower leaks onto the entrance foyer after taking a long shower or taking multiple showers in succession. Additional amenities needed are juice glasses, wine glasses, cocktail glasses, cereal bowls, and some sharp knives such as paring knives. The steak knives are not adequate for food preparation. Further, the express check-in did not work and a few more chairs on the deck would be nice..
But other than that, THE RIVER MIST AREA IS PHENOMENAL!!! We have been renting cabins there for over 15 years and WE LOVE IT!!!
Great place - the office folks did us a great favor and booked us immediately. Upon arrival, our previous booking was a bad place and we cancelled, then were left without a place to stay.
Your staff helped greatly and we stayed at a truly wonderful place - best Cabin we've seen, indescribable.

The house was wonderful. This was our annual family trip with adult children, spouses and grandchildren. The house was very, very nice. The wireless signal varied throughout the home making it a bit difficult (some had to work while there). Our trash was not picked up while we were there. We weren't sure if we should have put the cans somewhere for pickup- but no instructions from the rental agency. The home was clean (super important for me with small grandchildren), well decorated and very nice. We would return.

It was so beautiful and we had a great time. But on my wedding night when we return to our cabin we had no water my New husband slept on the couch waiting for maintenance to come while I slept in our bed. Big Bummer!This was the third time maintenance had to be called out to the cabin two times for overflowing toilets before no water. I would like to put in special kudos for the ladies that clean our cabin. They were so kind and honest plus they had more answers for anything we needed and and they went above and beyond while we were staying in two different cabins USA.
Some minor things that could have been taken care of for TV remotes, pool table, Jacuzzi and a few misc. things we called on but overall it was one of our best family vacations and bringing people from multiple states into one house that was as well organized as Cabins USA prepared was a pleasure. The booking and reservations Team were exceptional and easy to work with day or night! We will definitely come back again and have shared your property information with several other families already.

This was a beautiful property in a beautiful area. Everything is as pictured. We enjoyed our time thoroughly. Only things we had issues with were - the distance to any stores and to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The water in the back bedrooms had a lot of air in them and when we turned on the spigots to run water in the sink we became soaked. Also they really need to supply another frying pan - something bigger. As we did a lot of cooking there for many people - we could have used a bigger fry pan. The hot tub is old and the jets do not work well so the hot tub was only used once but this has been my experience with a lot of the cabins in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. The pool table is unstable. Other than those small things this is one of the most beautiful cabins we have stayed in. Cabins USA made our stay very convenient and I would definitely book from them again.

Had a great time...Only complaints the Pool Table needs replacing...Shaky,legs very unstable..Hot Tub had good temp. control and jet function but needed fresh water..was too chemically..stung your eyes..PH levels were way off... Thanks, John Murphy
Overall, a good experience. Beautiful view. Spacious. Quiet. Very adaptable
for a large group. We had 14.
As reported when checking out:
1. One of the dishwashers was full of dirty dishes and broken.
2. The wi-fi was not working. A biggie because we had no cell phone service at all.
3. Sink stopped up in one bedroom.
4. Only one BR had a fireplace remote.
5. In our BR (the first on the left), a constant drip in the shower was annoying.
6. No iron or ironing board
7. Remote for large fireplace in family room stopped working.
