The cabin was clean and comfortable. We had a 12 year old and a 10 year old who loved having the downstairs to themselves. We cooked once and the kitchen was well stocked. This cabin had the nicest appliances I've ever seen in a cabin and the ice/water in the door on the fridge was great! The cabin water had a pretty strong smell and obviously turned everything orange as the sink, tubs/showers, dishwasher and washing machine were all orange. The beds were very firm but comfortable. The couches were a bit worn but were still comfortable. I appreciated the provided baby gate as we had an 18 month old and she was super curious about the stairs. The only suggestion i have is to replace the steps at the front door. They are super narrow and slant and when it's rainy/icy, they are slippery. This cabin is also the furthest out we even stayed too. The listing says close to Dollywood, but you're easily 20 minutes from the parkway. We are used to being 5-10 minutes from the action so i didn't love the location but that is my preference. The cabin is also located in a residential area. The house across the street had 3-4 large dogs who barked constantly. If we were outside, they were standing up on the fence barking. They barked a lot during the day but thankfully, they were kept inside at night. We've stayed with Cabins USA probably more than 10 times and feel they are the best value for our money. Check in is easy and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed this time that i didn't get an email with checkout instructions and had to call the office to do so, as i had to call a few times for someone to answer.
The cabin location was great. Inside needed some updating as the blankets were quite worn. That definitely needs an upgrade. The pool table also needs some upgrades as well as it was quite worn out. Still, it was a great place to stay and would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay, but we have a few suggestions.
1. The outside thrash container should be metal with a lid.
2. The floor in the upstairs needs replaced.
3. Both decks need attention.
4. Venetian blinds need replaced.
It is a nice cabin. Very comfortable, just needs a few repairs.
Great Cabin. I loved how cozy it felt. Perfect for a get away weekend and for couples. It has upstairs and downstairs both rooms with king beds. Also cabin was really clean.
The cabin was beautiful and we had a great time there. we didnt use the jet spa tub inside so im not sure how it was but the cabin its self was great would definitely stay again and the parking wasnt as bad as others put out to be yeah its on a slight hill like the cabin but its not hard to park or get out of ive got a ford flex and my sister has a SUV and we was able to pull both in and get out just fine. The only thing that was wrong the washer kept filling up even though it was off but other then that perfect.
The house was wonderful. I just think it needs some TLC. The faucets in the Master would run constantly. The Shower is the master would not drain properly and we were unable to use the bath tub due to the drain not working. I think the lower patio could use some furniture. The master bed was leaning down on the head side and we noticed woodpeckers were living inside the house. It seemed they had pecked there way on the side. Overall I think it would be a wonderful cabin once some love is given. It was a great price!
I would have given all 10s except on the value because it was a little pricey but hey what isn't these days. The cleanliness got a 7 because as soon as the hot tub jets got going, there was a large amount of oily looking film coming out of them and what I am assuming to be dead skin. It grossed me out enough where I didn't even use the spa tub because I was worried about that. Everything else was perfect. We enjoyed our time there and the view was beautiful.
We loved the cabin, over all! The hot tub was great! The fireplace heats the space well, the kitchen had ample supplies, plenty of pillows, blankets and towels.
We had brought our own in case, but should have brought a memory foam topper for the bed (it wasn't very comfortable). It was very clean when we arrived, with general wear and tear to hardwoods. The only places I would address are high places for dusting etc. We are all tall so noticed this quickly. The water had lots of iron which stained the toilets and showers, which didn't bother me since I know what it is. My son's loved the pool table. The landscaping could use some tending, if it has been spring or summer we wouldnt have been able to use the grill due to overgrowth. We loved the location of the cabin in regards to the distance from towns. We did not like the location due to road and driveway. We had a small SUV, some turns are very sharp in the neighborhood and will only allow one car by, the driveway is precarious to say the least. We would back out then have to go up the hill to turn around in a neighbors driveway. If we would have brought my husband's 4 door truck or a large suv I would not have felt comfortable parking in the driveway, it needs some markers where it drops down. My husband drives semi-trucks for a living and he even hated it.
Our aurb&b got double booked. I called and spoke with Megsn who was ao ki d and helpful. They had a cancellation and got us in. Every time I called with a question etc they were super kind and accommodating. The cabin was beautiful
The cabin was very spacious. The lower level had a lot of moisture so it could use a dehumidifier. You can also hear every step in the lower level bedroom which was very frustrating. The cabin was fairly clean but the the toilets and showers are stained, I assume due to the water, which made them look dirty. We did have to call to replace the toilet seat upstairs because it was broke and the lower level seat was very loose. We did not use the hot tub because it had a smell, again I'm assuming it's from how the water is brought to the cabin because the shower water also smelled. Also the deck looked like it was older so it made me nervous to be out there. The street that the cabin is on is very sketchy because it's windy and difficult to see around curves. We also had to use the neighbors driveway to get down because there isn't an easy way to get out of the driveway unless I wanted to back all the way down the road. Unfortunately the location alone would make me not want to book this one again.
I loved the view and the cleanliness! The only issue we had were the beds being a little uncomfortable and having trouble keeping getting in and out of the parking spot. There was no turn around spot and it was very difficult trying to back out of a hill onto another
The only issue I had with this cabin is there is some kind of animal living between the floors. They are very active in the early morning. I don't believe they were in the living part of the cabin. But every morning from around 3 am on you can hear them running around under you if you sleep in the up stairs bedroom.
Overall a good visit nice secluded location, very private only issues were a broken pool cue a few broken blinds but nothing major very nice cabin and a great value will definitely book with cabins usa again
The reason this cabin couldn't get a 10/10 is because the door to our bedroom was broken. The frame was off, so the door could not properly latch to shut and lock. This is a safety issue for me as an intruder would only have to break in through the door to the cabin and not a second bedroom door, leaving little time to prepare self defense. That's my own personal opinion. If you're okay with an open and unlocked bedroom than the cabin is perfect.
Loved the cabin. Beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen though is lacking in basic supplies to cook even simple things, there is not even a cutting board. And I would suggest some markers with reflectors beside the driveway to make it more convenient and safe for someone who is not familiar with the driveway
Great place for the price. Could use more seats in the living room. Driveway is a bit tricky to navigate in a large SUV. The Cabin was clean and well equipped with all the basics. But, with what is going on in the wourld we still brought some Clorox and lysol to wipe everything down again before getting settled in. We also brought our own sheets, towels, and bedding. They have them for you but we just felt a little safer bring thies items. Bring your own bottle water to drink. was a nice easy drive to all the smokey mountains has to offer. Pidgin forge is about 8miles, and you can take back roads and avoid the park way right into Gatlinburg, and other areas of the mountains. All and all our first trip to the mountains was an amazing experience! And the cabin and location fit all of our wants and needs.
The website led me to believe we would have access to a pool at one of there locations. When we got there and asked i was informed my cabin didn't apply to any of there pools... It wasn't the end of the world but it was a small let down.
The Jacuzzi in the master bedroom was pretty nasty dirty. After the jets were on and the water was drained the bottom of the tub had some nasty brown gunk all over it.
Other than those two things the cabin was great! The driveway is tricky so be careful. We all loved the location and the cabin in general. I would go back again, I would just come prepared with my Jacuzzi cleaner.
Cabin was very clean but needed upgrades! The blankets were so worn out we had to go buy blankets. It was simple things that could be taken care of nothing major. The downstairs pull out bed was broke but we called and maintenance brought a brand new blow up mattress immediately! We never could get tv to work in master bedroom and never could get another phone call through to main office. The decks really need stained and the driveway is very hard to get out, we used neighbors to turn every time. No Mountain View you are in mountains but trees and road is view, still ok! We really enjoyed our stay and just ignored the little things kitchen was well stocked with anything you need! Loved having upstairs and down! Just needs upgrade!
My family and I had a great time in this cabin and made tons of memories! This cabin is absolutely beautiful.
The very first thing was as soon as we got there. The cabin is in the mountains so of course you get little to no cell data, that's no problem for me but it is when I choose to do the express check in and the code they send me doesn't work so you have to try for an hour to get ahold of them, drive all the way out of the mountain, and it's not easy getting out of that driveway. Then when you finally do, they give you a complete different code. What's the point of express check in? The main issue that we did have, though, was cleanliness. It honestly seems as if the cleaner only swept floors, put bags in the trash and washed/hung the towels. Every single high touch area was filthy as if it hadn't been wiped down in months. The railing along the staircase was so dirty you could feel the grime on it. The phone in the master bedroom, same as the railing, only with a long piece of blonde hair wrapped around the phone. The master bedroom is also very dangerous for small children. The door frame inside the room is separating with nails sticking very far out. Luckily we had no children with us but my boyfriend, my mother and I all got caught on the nails multiple times walking out.
There was also no way to use the shower downstairs? The handle for turning the tub on does not work for the shower and there was also no plug for the tub drain. How are people staying downstairs supposed to bathe? Which also reminds me, this does not sleep 6 people. The downstairs pull out bed is broken as if a heavier person/people slept on it and severely dented the sides. It's impossible to sleep on. The only way to wash clothes was if you set the washer to cold. If you try to wash the towels in hot water the washer does not work. Last but not least, the phone in the downstairs bedroom did not work at all.
It seems like a lot of cons but it honestly did not weigh out the pros for us. We loved it here and would definitely come back! A suggestion I have is taking a bit more pride in your company and giving guests what they pay for. Another suggestion would be putting the phone number to the cabin phones by the telephones. We had to call someone to figure out the number.
We had a great time at the cabin. There were only a couple hiccups with our stay:
1. When we arrived around 4:00 we were not able to access the cabin until almost 4:30 because it was just being cleaned. I tried to call the office numerous times but no one answered.
2. The tv in the master bedroom upstairs did not work properly. Would come on with no sound and the screen was discolored.
Other tha k those two issues out weeks stay was fabulous! I am sure we will be back! Thank you!
Cabin was great. The guy at check in was extremely slow and had no idea what he was doing. The line to check in was out the door and we had to wait for over an hour just to check in.
Great stay, awesome location. The only issue I saw was the rust in the tub, shower and sinks(could use some remodeling), the front door was a little difficult to lock from the outside using the key code and the downstairs didn't have any curtains on the windows in the lounge area.
Me and my husband stayed at Bears and Beyond for his birthday in Nov 2019
Location was easy to get to. Driveway was a bit tricky. We turned around in neighbors driveway to back in.
Very nice cabin. Loved the all wood.
1st floor had master bed shower toilet small sink jacuzzi tub in bedroom a door that led out to a deck and hot tub. Hot tub was clean and was wonderful for cool nights. Secluded enough to enjoy. Had to back the car up to the 1st deck to block anyone or anything from walking onto deck at night. All the sinks were stained and water had a funny smell and taste so we used bottled water to drink and brushed teeth. Fire place did not work. Couch was stained in living room. Dining chairs needed to be replaced. Pool table needed to be balanced which resulted in missed shots but still had fun.
Overall we would rent from company again
Booking online was easy, and our stay was very nice. Only issue we had was trying to get the key code to work, and I think that was just us, lol! The cabin was relatively clean for the most part, could use a quick cleaning of cob webs and dust... seen a lot of cob webs, and a thick layer of dust on the table by the pool table, but other than that, it was great! The staff overall was very nice, with the exception of a few calls I made prior to our check in with some questions, the girls I talked to then weren’t very friendly at all. Checkout was a breeze, and I would stay here again or recommend to others. A few side notes: the cabin didn’t really have the views we were expecting, maybe some tree trimming would be beneficial. I seen some reviews where others had bug problems, we didn’t experience any problems with bugs. And lastly, one time when we returned, a tag on the door said maintenance had been there. I found that odd, that they came right after we checked in and while we were out, and didn’t even specify why they had been there...we didn’t request maintenance on anything, so I was a little bothered by that. But we had a wonderful time, wish we could’ve stayed longer!!
We had a nice, relaxing vacation. Just not very comfortable sleeping arrangements. Beds were super hard you could feel the metal bars on pull out couch therefore forcing us to sleep on reclining loveseat and couch. And not enough room to have comfortable " movie nights" for 6 people....other than that we had a pretty nice time...We will definitely be back to rent with Cabins USA. Thank You..
Overall we had a good stay. The cabin was quiet and relaxing and not to far from attractions. The 2 king beds were pretty comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with a good amount of pots and pans. However there are some cons. The cabin was clean but the sinks and tubs are badly rust stained. When we first got to the cabin the entry code didn’t work. After calling the office and trying multiple codes we got one that worked. The wifi didn’t work the entire stay. We used our own mobile hotspot. We had planned on using the pull out sofa for the kids and that wasnt possible. The mattress is so thin on the sofa that there might as well be no mattress on it at all. We had to go buy air mattresses. Despite the cons we did have a good stay but I probably wouldn’t rent this cabin in the future.
Really nice cabin, was cozy but wasn't real crazy with the layout. We also thought it was kinda weird that some of the previous cabins we stayed in had all premium channels and this one didn't, but we got by with what we had.
The locations was great! I will definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family . The beds were comfy . I had a really relaxing time . Also , the cabin i not far at all from attractions . The Family dollar down the street came in handy for little things that we forgot . I will be using Cabin USA again in the near future . The only issue I had was upon arrival we didn't have the password to the Wifi but one phone call to Cabins Usa fixed that issue promptly .
The cabin was in a great location! I already recommended to a friend, but the cabin is booked already! Maybe they can get it next year. The cabin is located in a great area, however there is a property across the street that has 3-4 very large dogs and they do bark, if that would be an issue for anyone that should be considered. We were on the go most of the time so this was not an issue for us. We did call maintenance for a couple things that needed fixed in the cabin and they came out right away, very impressive.
I would suggest to the owner, that you leave some cleaning supplies, broom dust pan and maybe some bathroom cleaner.
You will need to bring extra dish soap and cubes for the dishwasher only a small amount was left (only for 3 days). We did purchase a toaster and leave at the unit as the one there was broken.
I would rent again from Cabins USA and this cabin was great!
Thank you so much!
There are a couple of issues. The drive-way is horrible for coming and going. We had to back out and turn around in the neighbor's drive-way every time.
There is a hole in the East gable. During our stay a squirrel or some other animal decided to make its home in that part of the house and would make a horrible noise early in the morning waking up most of us.
Other than those two problems, we would recommend the cabin and would even consider returning in the future.
We had a very nice stay. Only thing was we seen some huge bugs in the bathrooms. Also our key code didn’t work when we got there and we had to call and get a new one. The hot tub had a musky smell to it. The sharp right turn to get to the cabin was hard to make and we were constantly having to back up in the middle of the road to make it. The staff was very nice when we called about our key code not working. We have recommended it to people already.
The deck, and outside furniture need to be treated as they are getting faded and splintery. The pictures used to advertise the cabin need to be updated. The water smelled fishy. I wouldn’t consider the cabin as being “close†to Dollywood. The hot tub is leaking onto the lower deck. However, it is a very quiet and relaxing place that I would have loved to stayed at for a longer time had it been possible. It was clean and overall a nice place! We needed maintenance for the A/C, and the person showed up promptly and was very nice and respectful.
We had originally booked another cabin for our 9 day trip to Gatlinburg, however it sold about a month before our trip. This resulted in us being moved to another cabin. At the time, Bears and Beyond was new to Cabins USA and didn't have photos. It was a little scary booking it, but it was the only cabin left with similar amenities so we went with it... Boy am I GLAD we did!!! My phones GPS took us some insane back road to get to the cabin on our first day, and I was initially a bit annoyed thinking that it was super far out. It actually ended up being in the perfect location. If you're looking to explore Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, this is the house for you! It is literally in the middle of all three places! We took back roads during our whole trip which avoided that crazy stop and go traffic, and gave us a chance to check out the scenery. Oh, and there is a Family Dollar right down the street so you can grab things that you forgot!
Now lets talk about the cabin and the pros. The road to get to the cabin does wind and it is steep in places, but not nearly as bad as some (like a lot of the roads between PF and G'burg). It's totally manageable in a 2WD as long as there isn't snow/ice. The cabin itself is beautiful and the pictures are extremely accurate. You walk into the kitchen and living room combo. The kitchen has all of the normal things, and a dishwasher which is a plus! The living room has a recliner sofa and a rocking chair. It also has a fireplace, however we couldn't get it to work. I decided maybe it was turned off since it was the end of March and we didn't miss it! Off the living room is the master bedroom with a king sized bed and an in room Jacuzzi. Attached is the master bath with laundry and a huge walk in shower with two shower heads. Off the master is also the deck with the hot tub. The hot tub was glorious after a full day of walking and exploring and it was a perfect location to relax after putting our toddler to bed. AND since the deck has a roof, we were able to relax even while it was raining/storming. Downstairs is a large room with a pull out sofa and a pool table. Off that room is the lower deck, which is not accessible to the road, so it was perfect to let our daughter play on while we played pool. There is also a second bedroom downstairs. I cannot speak for the bed because we rented a crib for our daughter, but it seemed nice. There is also a small bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
The cons?
The pool table is not level. No big deal, in my opinion, unless you're a professional I guess. It's not hugely off, but enough to make some balls miss a pocket when they really should have gone in.
The master bath shower needs a good scrubbing floor to ceiling. There was some mold.
The kitchen is lacking a few things. Unfortunately I didn't notice there wasn't a strainer until I had a pot of noodles ready to drain. OOPS! There weren't any pot holders or dish towels either, which made getting casseroles out of the oven a bit dicey.
There is no baby gate for the top of the stairs! That's a big one for families. It's a large opening so a standard gate isn't wide enough (we bought one at Walmart and had to return it). I hope the cabin owners may think about having one built in. Thankfully our 2-year-old listens well, but a baby who is crawling could be an issue.
There is a mouse issue. I called after we had been there a few days, after discovering mouse poo on the counter and that our loaf of bread had been invaded. You can hear them in the ceiling when you're downstairs. I made sure to let Cabins USA know that I wasn't complaining. After all, these cabins are rural and critters happen! I'm sure they'll have an exterminator come out.
Overall, we really did love this cabin! I think every place across the world has some cons to it, but the pros far outweigh the cons mentioned above. The location was one of the best things for us! We used to stay right in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg, but the fires burned down our cabin. This was our first time staying "out of town" and we truly loved it! I would absolutely stay in this cabin again. :o)
